Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) is when the sensory processing is not functioning properly. This disorder is when the senses that we experience is not processed properly in our brains. From here the brain will send wrong signals to our motional, attention, motor, and other responses. The Sensory Processing Disorder affects 1 of 20 children in the US.
Come to Your Senses is an event to draw awareness to the Sensory processing Disorder (SPD). This was created by A 17 years old teenager Jordyn Brown which has experienced the SPD first hand. Her cousin Hayley Fannin was diagnosed with SPD when she was six years old. Now she is 13 years old and has gone through Occupational Therapy to help her cope with her disorder.
The Come to Your Sense event will be the first ever Community Awareness Event in Sammamish. The event will be held on April 25, 2009 at Eastlake Community Field, 400 – 228th Avenue NE, Sammamish, WA 98074. This event will feature celebrity softball, exhibits and SPD information booth, and silent auctions. The proceeds of this event will go to the SPD Foundation.

The Windfest – Family Festival has been held for the past 34 years. It will be held on April 16 to April 18, 2009 for this year. The location for the festival is at the Pavillion and Festival Area by Community Center, 1605 A Hwy 181, Portland, TX 78374. This festival is sponsored by the Portland Chamber of Commerce, the City of Portland and the Gregory-Portland Independent School District.
The Windfest is a Family Festival that will feature a variety of unique crafts and arts for sale. There will be activities that children will enjoy like the 25 carnival rides, Kid fish, they will have their own corner where there will be free games. The adults will have their own sets of activities to enjoy from like cook”offs and tournaments like the horseshoe tournament, washer tournament and 3 on 3 basketball tournaments.
Vendors will be allowed to set up their booths on April 17 starting from 10:00 A.M. The Windfest – Family Festival will officially start from 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. on April 16, April 17 from 11:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. and on April 18 from 12:00 noon to 7:00 P.M. The admission fee will be $3.00 for adults, children age 10 and below will be free and for senior citizen and military personnel the admission fee is $2.00.
Based on pervious years the promoters are expecting about 20,000 attendees for this craft show. The parking space will be free if parked along the streets but at the parking area the fee will be $1.00. There are about 10 portable outdoor restroom units around the craft show area.
The promoters are looking for 30 craft and art vendors that will showcase their unique work of arts. If you are and interested vendor who wish to join the festival there is a space fee of $100.00 for a 10×10 space and $25.00 for the electric but you will need to bring your own extension cords.

An acoustic guitar chord is simply several notes played simultaneously. There are several different acoustic guitar chords but most people can get by with just a few of the basic chords. A basic fact to commit to memory before you begin is that major chords should sound bright while minor chords sound dark.
Acoustic guitar chord diagrams notate guitar chords so that beginners can read and practice playing a chord. Rather than side to side (horizontal) the common notation for guitar tabs, the lines that represent an acoustic chord diagram will run up and down, or vertically. You will see a grid when looking at a chord diagram. The strings are represented by the vertical lines, while the frets are represented by the horizontal lines. The place where your fingers should go is represented by dots.
The acoustic guitar chord diagram will display six lines with numbers on those lines. The lines represent the stings from top to bottom of the guitar neck, and the numbers represent which finger is to be used on the string to produce a chord. 1 indicates that the index finger should be used, 2 for the middle finger, 3 for the ring finger, 4 for the little finger, and T for rare instances that the thumb is used. Leave the other three strings open. Then play all six strings, one at a time. You should be able to hear the chord clearly. If you hear buzzing or rattling, adjust your fingers on the frets. Move your finger down the string or try pressing the strings down harder on the fingerboard if the tone sounds off. Check to see that your fingers aren’t touching each other or any of the other strings. Then when all the notes sound in tune, give them a strum all at once. You’ve just played a G-major acoustic guitar chord.
The acoustic guitar chord E-minor is much easier to learn how to finger. Your index finger goes on the second fret of the fifth string, while your middle finger rests on the second fret of the fourth string when playing this chord. There should be enough room for both fingers to rest on the fret without having them touch. After trying the notes, adjust your fingers until the sound you hear is the right note. Then, strum both strings to play the E-minor chord. You will notice a darker sound from this minor chord.
If you are a beginner, good basic acoustic guitar chords to learn are A-major, A-minor, C-major and D-major. A key skill to master is to get these individual chords down like second nature. Your fingers should move to the right places almost instinctively. Once you are happy with this, you should practice moving back and forth between these acoustic guitar chords as quickly as you can. Practicing quick finger placement is critical.
At first you will need to position your fingers one at a time to get the acoustic guitar chords to sound right, but with practice, the fingering will become natural and you will be able to position your fingers in the correct places quickly without having to think about it. With tis said, it is hardly a natural movement for beginners so it will take a bit of effort to get this right. Should you get disheartened at having to do this, remember that you are pretty close to playing some of your favorite tunes once these skills are mastered.

It takes more craftsmanship on the part of the builder to make a more comfortable guitar and thats one reason they cost more.
There are some decent beginner guitar packages out there which include the guitar, and amplifier and other accessories. This is a good way to get started but the quality of the guitars in these packages is usually quite low. I honestly feel like youre better off just laying down the extra cash right off the top for a quality guitar.
The difference between a professional quality guitars and poorly made guitars is really in the details. The way the neck, nut and bridge all work together will determine how low you can have the guitars string action. The lower the action the easier and more comfortable it will be to play. Quality guitars will have a good straight neck with smooth fret ends that don’t snag on your hand.
Top of the line guitars will also have a better bridge on them. A good bridge will make your playing experience much easier. The bridge determines how well the guitar gets in tune and stays in tune. It’s also one of the most important factors in determining string height.
Cheap guitars usually come with cheap pickups as well. The pickups on the guitar do more to affect the sound than any other part of the guitar. A good pickup will have a well defined, clear sound and will not have extra hum or make a lot of noise. The best guitars will have pickups that compliment each other and the guitar.
So if you ask me I will tell you, get the very best guitar you can afford. It’s a great investment in your playing if you get a professional instrument that will be easy to play. I highly recommend the same guitar I use every gig in my live band, the Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster.
