EXCLUSIVE: Two week time lapse of Judy Pfaff’s installation Buckets of Rain (2006) at Ameringer & Yohe Fine Art, New York. Balancing intense planning with improvisational decision-making, Judy Pfaff creates exuberant, sprawling sculptures and installations that weave landscape, architecture, and synthetic color into a tense yet organic whole. A pioneer of installation art in the 1970s, Pfaff synthesizes sculpture, painting, and architecture into dynamic environments in which space seems to expand and collapse, fluctuating between two and three dimensions. Alighiero Boetti

Alighiero Fabrizio Boetti, 1940-1994, Italian artist associated with the Arte Povera movement. He is an artist who utilizes out-sourcing and manufacturing. He worked with a wide array of materials, tools, and techniques, including ball pens and even the postal system. Some of Boetti’s artistic strategies are considered typical for Arte Povera, namely the use the most modest of materials and techniques, to take art off its pedestal of attributed “dignity”. Boetti also took a keen interest in the relationship between chance and order, in various systems of classification, and non-Western traditions and cultural practices, influenced by his Afghanistan and Pakistan travels. Some work pictured in the slide show are images from his collaborative pieces with Afghanistan weavers where he allowed the weavers to choose the color combinations in his work. This made each piece random as well as collaborative. Boetti believes that his work is not complete unless it has be interacted with by multiple makers as well as viewers. The work is the process. When he mailed letters to non-existent addresses and the post office returned them to him, this became his idea of collaboration. He also sent drawing games to local art universities and when he received responses he had them woven into Kilims and then displayed in museums.

Art:21 | Paul McCarthy | Lifecasting

Episode #095: Surrounded by various figurative sculptures in progress in his Los Angeles studio, including an over-sized bust of President George W. Bush, artist Paul mccarthy discusses the process of casting from life and the resulting perfections and imperfections. Paul mccarthy’s video-taped performances and provocative multimedia installations lampoon polite society, ridicule authority, and bombard the viewer with a sensory overload of often sexually-tinged, violent imagery. With irreverent wit, mccarthy often takes aim at cherished American myths and icons—Walt Disney, the Western, and even the Modern Artist—adding a touch of malice to subjects that have been traditionally revered for their innocence or purity. Whether conflating real-world political figures with fantastical characters such as Santa Claus, or treating erotic and abject content with frivolity and charm, mccarthy’s work confuses codes, mixes high and low culture, and provokes an analysis of fundamental beliefs. Want to enhance the aesthetic appeal of ...

The pastel artist is one who imprints his innovative skill and years of experience through pastel art. He illustrates attractive paintings on differently colored bases; redefine textures and shapes of pastel strokes. The quality of these paintings is to show the art movement and it is largely depend upon on subjects including dancing and working women, racecourse painting etc.

However, before drawing the pastel paintings artists need to choose the materials. Pastels are available in the form of soft, hard or oil pastel to pastel pencils and crayons along with wide range of eye-catching colors.  Once the artists have chosen it, their works become very easy because it does not need to prepare the drawing surface and pastel can be used directly to support it. Additionally, in this sort of paintings no harmful chemicals have been used.

After the preparation of all these things pastel artist starts drawing the paintings by following simple steps i.e. by using different colors artist sketches, small regular strokes and then again sketches in cross direction that ultimately make texture and shading. The next work is scribbling, that is random drawing, it might be overlapping with another shades. Likewise, it gives mobile perception due to which the features have been shown in the paintings seem mobile such as dancing women really seem dancing and running horses really appear running.

Besides, there are several techniques that artists use while drawing paintings with pastels such as layering under which they build layers of colors. However, artists also use liquids including turpentine or mineral spirits as blending tool to generate a wash effect alike to watercolor paintings.

Definitely once painting gets created, it looks beautiful and attracts many eyes in painting exhibition but it needs special protection for its longer life. Therefore, it always better to fix it inside a frame.

Get Info On Web Design Artist And ...

Web design combines traditional arts with technical skills. A Web site is a collection of Web pages that are linked with each other to form one single body of information. A Web site can offer information about the object that it aims to describe using text, graphics, and audio or maybe in some cases video. Basically web site content can be almost anything. It all depends on the developer’s creativity and design. Anyone can start a website, but, can anyone design a website? Obviously not, it is the only work of the web designer or web design artist.
The web designer works with images and words to create the perfect web layout. To create unique websites, the kind of websites that really add value to the World Wide Web, skilled web designers use various tools. Web designers uses beautiful pictures and graphics or create fabulous images using programs such as Photoshop, Coral Draw, Illustrator, Basic Paint, Photo Impact and so on. They also design dramatic layouts by using 3D software or Flash which may take the visitors into another world. Business and informational websites must me pointed on the proper subject and it should not be artistic, they need to inspire.
Corporate websites need clear designs, simple layouts so that any visitor could access the information fast and understand the purpose of the website. Website should convey proper and original information and also develop brand awareness in a positive manner. A good website can sell a service or products, but this doesn’t mean that its appearance should fade. Web design artist has full power to rework on the site and also can modify images by day to day basis to attract the visitors for their sites. Good realistic designs could add a lot of glamour and attraction to your website. They create sort of natural beauty.
Drawing provides the basis for other creative activities – like painting, sculpture and printmaking – but it also provides a direct link with reading, writing and especially mathematics. The connection between drawing and geometric shapes and measurements simply cannot be denied. The basic function of drawing is to make marks onto a surface to communicate ideas and information. When you see specialized techniques for preparing good drawing, what comes to mind first? Most people think that it’s a god’s gift filled with skills. However, it is not necessary that you need to be born with the ability to draw or paint. Like any other means of communication, drawing is a skill that almost anybody can learn. It is very easy to be drawn. You can use a variety of tools to begin learning to draw, such as the lead pencil, charcoal, color pencils, wax crayons, pen and ink, and these days even digitally. Once you learn the basics, you can use creativity by going on to experiment with variety of styles like cartooning, sketching, caricature, illustration, and also abstract and representational rendering.
There are few steps you can follow to begin your drawing lesson:
Observation:- Observation is an important factor of the technique of drawing. Unless you learn how to see, it will be difficult for you to draw the objects around you successfully.
The Lines:- Once you learn to see the various shapes of objects, start by learning to draw lines, which are any drawing’s basic building blocks. Lines can either be rendered visually or just implied by using spaces. There are three basic types of lines that you will use to render any object, these are – the straight line, the curved line, or angled lines.
Perspective Right :- Perspective, as far as drawing is concerned, is about using the rules of geometry to represent objects on paper as they appear in reality, which is that they seem to become smaller and bunch together the further they are from your observation point.
The Right Shade:- Shading is the key to making the objects you draw appear 3-dimensional. Before you begin shading, you need to determine where the source of light is in your drawing. For example, if the source of light is on the left of the object, the right side will get the darkest shading, while the left will get the lightest.
A Shadow:- The final step of giving form to your 3-dimensional object is to add a shadow. Whenever there is a source of light falling on an object, it creates the shadow of the object on the opposite side.
