Painting Business – 6 Tips for ...

If you have always wanted to start your own painting business and have it run smoothly and profitably right from the start…, if you would like to go home at night and relax in your easy chair with a smile on your face and the sweet feeling of having your entrepreneurial desires accomplished, below are 6 tips that can get you there fast.

1.) Use the best paint available for residential painting – I use Benjamin Moore paint in people’s homes. The new latex version of their famous Satin Impervo for woodwork and trim is outstanding. Their Regal wall paint in the Matt finish is very good also, especially when it comes to wash ability that doesn’t leave burnishing marks like with cheaper paints.

You just can go wrong using a high quality name like Benjamin Moore – especially when the products are excellent and user-friendly. This brand name is always welcomed in the finest of homes (million dollar homes) as well as everywhere else!

2.) I recommend having a painting business partner – this is so critical in business. There are so many reasons why it makes sense not to go it alone as a painter. You can turn your jobs faster, the work becomes easier, two people can come up with good ideas, techniques, etc.

3.) Diversify your services – some painters like to offer more than just painting. There are natural add-on services like power washing, window washing, light carpentry, drywall/plaster repair, driveway sealing, etc. These extra services can help keep you consistently busy and more profitable.

4.) Strive for repeat business – many businesses prosper just from repeat business alone. An example would be window washing. Having painting business contracts set up that are repeating on a monthly or seasonal cycle could be a strong backbone for your company’s profits. This can work in commercial painting where you and the customer agree on a monthly or seasonal maintenance or touch-up painting schedule.

5.) Use referrals and other free painting business getting secrets – Word of mouth or getting referrals is the strongest form of advertising. If your company does good work you will get a lot of referrals. These referrals are people that are pre-sold on you and your company by their friends and acquaintances.

So if you go do an estimate from a referral consider the fact that most of the time it will be a sure yes. Also having good references on demand for new potential customers who are cold contacts is important and works well also.

6.) Learn how to estimate – next to getting a lot of free advertising, nothing beats having a good estimating system in place for maximum painting business profits. New painters struggle and many times eat their jobs in the beginning. Or they will give their work away just to get the job because they are so afraid the customer will reject their bid.

When you know how to estimate correctly you will not be afraid of your company prices because you know they are fair. Plus if the customer says no, you can always offer to go a bit lower or just move on to the next estimate.

7.) Bonus tip: I like to work comfortable hours. I usually work 9 am – 4 pm Monday through Friday. I like my weekends off. Once in a while there are exceptions when I will work a half-day on Saturday or a commercial job that requires you to work nights.

But I never work Sundays. I wouldn’t make an animal work on Sunday let alone a human. Sunday is your God-given day off to relax and enjoy spending it with your loved ones. Give yourself some class.

Tips on Painting Ceilings

Ceilings are often viewed as being one of the most difficult places in the home to paint. Some of the biggest problems is paint dripping, having a sore are and neck and having to balance on top of a ladder. Also there are so many types of ceilings – flat, textured, vaulted etc. So what are the best techniques when painting a ceiling?

Paint Selection – The right sort of a paint is essential as there are so many to choose from. The broadest categories of paint are oil and latex. Then there is the type of finish – high gloss and matt are the two main types.

But choosing paint for your ceiling can be more complex than that. Some paints are especially for particular types of ceilings such as texture coated and acoustic tile. Acoustic tiles will normally be found in “home cinema” rooms.

Textured/Popcorn Ceilings – Textured ceilings are a bit more tricky to deal with as using a brush or roller won’t work. Instead you need to use a paint sprayer. The professionals make sprayers look easy but for a novice it can actually be quite difficult. You will need good ventilation and the correct consistency of paint. If the paint is at the wrong consistency then the sprayer will either clog up or spay out a watery paint.

Do You Need Primer? – If you are painting on a new surface then a primer is essential otherwise you would need a lot more top coats. The primer can help hide discolorations that can show through regular paint. Using a primer will also help give a good surface so that the layers of paint adhere; reducing drips.

How to Reduce Dripping Paint – If your paint is too thin there is the risk that it’ll splatter. Test a bit out on a vertical surface to see if the paint runs. If it does then it will more than likely drip when applied to the ceiling.

Don’t move you’re your roller back and forth too quickly. If you go too fast this will increase the chance of splattering. For tall ceilings a roller with an extension pole will make your work much easier and prevent neck strain. Also, don’t put too much paint on the roller.

If you have the pole extended out at a slight angle you will find this more comfortable and you’ll be able to avoid paint splattering all over you. Just ensure you don’t have the pole extended too far out as it will feel a lot heavier to use.

For most of us, painting a ceiling shouldn’t be too painful as using a roller is very easy and quick to use.

Pros and Cons of Using Gloss on Interior ...

As a painting contractor for many years, I have witnessed many blunders by well meaning homeowners who simply don’t understand just how unpredictable gloss paint can be on interior walls. In an effort to achieve durability and scrub ability, many sprint off to purchase satin or gloss paint without taking into account the hurdles that will shortly become very noticeable. With their dreams of rich color tones that gloss paint affords and the scrub able persona of the paint, some homeowners reason they simply can’t go wrong.
Most painting contractors would agree that one could certainly make a suitable line of reasoning for using paints with sheen; then again most homeowners are not aware of the problem to using glossy paint on their walls.

Below are problems coupled with using gloss paint.

1. One of the most widespread problems with using gloss paint is it causes minor defects in your walls to become detectable. Defects that are veiled by flat paint suddenly come alive when using satin or gloss paint. If you receive a fair amount of sunlight through windows in the room, it will be even more perceptible. Sheetrock tape joints that are faintly raised or depressed can become evident. Uneven texture in the walls can become visible, etc.

2. Paints with a sheen are notorious for causing a halo effect around trim. When walls are rolled in a room, the roller nap leaves a different texture than what a brush leaves when cutting in wall paint around doors, windows, baseboard, and crown moldings. Light reflects differently from the texture left by the brush than from the textures left by the roller nap. This is a very annoying problem that can ruin the appearance of your freshly painted room.

3. If you are planning to paint gloss over existing flat walls, you really need two coats of paint to avoid flashing (unevenness of sheen throughout the wall). Two coats improve consistency of sheen and enhance color tone. This of course, increases your cost.

If you must have sheen on the walls, then follow these suggestions

1. Use very low sheen paint. The use of eggshell, or satin sheens will help minimize the above problems associated with gloss paints.

2. Prepare your walls very well. Some of the problems may be beyond the scale of what you or the painter you hire can do. A sheet rock contractor may be your best preference for major wall repair.

3. Always cut your walls in first using a brush. Then proceed to rolling the walls. After the walls have been cut in with a brush, then roll the wall paint with a roller and nap within a quarter of an inch of your trim. Alternatively, you can apply blue tape to all your trim which will allow you to roll up to the trim. This will go a long way in reducing the halo effect. Additionally, obtaining a smaller roller frame and nap will allow you to reach tight areas a standard size roller can’t reach. If you touch your trim with the roller, then clean the paint off the trim with a cloth immediately.

4. Be sure and budget for two coats of paint to achieve the look and feel you want.

Low sheen paint can give you the richness and dept of color with reduced problems in particular in rooms that do not get a lot of light. If you are going to use flat paint, then understand not all flat paints are alike. Top of the line flat paints will clean with much less damage to the wall than lower quality paint. Make sure it is a scrub able paint. When you wash flat paint you should use a sponge with water and soap. Never use a cloth. Cleaning with a cloth will polish the surface, causing sheen to appear at that spot. My suggestion as a painting contractor is plan your project well. Consider the quirks of gloss paint and budget in view of that. Weigh the pros and cons of using sheen on your walls.

Beginner Acrylic Painting Tips & ...

Acrylic paint, when compared with other mediums like oil paint, is a fairly new addition to the world of painting. It has only been around since the 1950’s . It has been continually under development and refinement since that time. Just because acrylic paint has not been around as long as oils, does not make these paints less important or enjoyable.

Some of the wonderful benefits of using acrylic paints are their versatility, permanence and ease of use. These paints can be applied thickly as an impasto or in thin washes similar to watercolor. Acrylic paint does not yellow or harden with age like oils.

Another reason artists love to work with acrylics is their fast drying time. Since acrylic paint dries so quickly, colors can be applied and layered quicker than oil paints. But with this fast drying time comes a few disadvantages:

1) The paint will not remain workable for very long, so you have to work fast.

2) Brushes can be ruined if you do not clean them right away.

3) If you plan to paint outdoors, then acrylic paint is probably not the best medium to use, especially on a hot sunny day. When you lay out your colors on a palette or other surface, they will begin to dry quickly forming skins on the surface, making them quite difficult to work with.

ACRYLIC PAINTING TECHNIQUES

Watercolor Effects

Many artists like to use acrylics in a fluid state, similar to watercolor. There is a notable difference though. With acrylics, washes can be layered on top of one another without fear of disturbing the colors underneath. You must wait for one layer to dry completely before applying another of course. Once each layer dries it becomes insoluble in water. One disadvantage to using acrylics as a watercolor medium is the difficulty in modifying the color. Once acrylic paint begins to dry it becomes very difficult to modify and washes can sometime dry with unwanted hard edges. You can avoid this problem in one of two ways. You can either dampen the paper before the paint is applied or you can use an additional brush dampened with water. Use one brush to apply the paint and immediately soften the edge with the other brush that has been dampened with the water.

Pouring & Dripping Technique

This technique was made popular by the master painter Jackson Pollock in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. You use a very fluid acrylic paint for this technique. You can pour it directly on the canvas or dip a brush into the paint and let it drip down onto the canvas. You can create some very interesting effects with this technique. Check out Jackson Pollocks work to see this technique in action.

Sgraffito Technique

Sgraffito is a scratching technique. It got its name from the Italian word graffiare which literally means to scratch. Just as the name implies it involves scratching into the surface of the wet paint which reveals either the ground or layer of dry color underneath. There are a number of different tools that can be used for this technique. Tools like screwdrivers or the sharpened end of an old paintbrush handle can work.

Using a Squeegee

A regular squeegee that you can buy at any hardware or auto store has the ability to create some interesting effects. First squeeze out some paint blobs directly along one edge of your support. You can layout whatever colors you wish. Then with one fluid motion drag the paint across the surface with your squeegee smearing and mixing the paint as you go.

ACRYLIC PAINTING TIPS

Variety

One of the things that makes a painting interesting is variety. Use a variety of different brushstrokes, techniques and values in your paintings. Change the direction of your brushstrokes or mix different techniques in the same painting.

Don’t Copy

Don’t copy other artists. Allow other artists to influence you and paint your own impression of what you see from your heart and soul. This is how your inner creativity shines on the canvas. It is what set painters like Vincent van Gogh and Salvador Dali apart from the rest. They each injected their own style and heart into their work.

Observe Your Surroundings

Spend time observing and studying your subjects and surroundings. Landscape artists spend a great deal of time outdoors studying nature. Figure and portrait artists spend a great deal of time studying the human anatomy. If you aren’t spending enough time observing the subjects that you wish to paint, then you won’t have the necessary knowledge to paint them.

Art Supplies

Are you using quality acrylic painting supplies? In the beginning when you are experimenting, it is ok to use cheaper supplies, but as you become more experienced, you may want to consider investing in better quality. When it comes to fine art supplies, you usually get what you pay for. If you buy cheap brushes, they will more than likely begin to fall apart. The ferrule of the brush can loosen and the hairs can fall out. If you use cheap paint, you will get cheap looking results. The colors will not have the same brilliance or the right consistency.

Don’t Be Afraid to Use your Paint

Lets face it, good paint does not come cheap, so in an effort to conserve our paint, some artists will use as little paint as possible. This is a reasonable concern, but the truth however, is that your paintings will be more interesting if you lay down the brush stroke, leave it alone, and then reload your brush. Don’t try and scrub the paint into the canvas, otherwise you are just staining, and not painting.

Don’t Over Think

Don’t overly criticize or judge your own work while you are painting. This will discourage and frustrate you. Just relax and let go. Trust yourself and your abilities. ?

Painting Tips For The Perfect Ceiling

When it comes to painting a house there’s nothing that makes people cringe more than the thoughts of painting a ceiling. You just know you’re going to wind up covered in drops of paint – no matter how much you cover your arms, face and head. On top of that it’s just a plain old awkward place to get at and you never know quite what the surface finish of the ceiling is like until you get started. So how are you going to get the results you want with your ceiling painting project?

The first place to start looking is at your tools and choosing the right paint for the job at hand.

Obviously the first big item on your shopping list is paint. You need to know your paint types. You can choose from the two main categories of oil and latex paint. Then you need to look at the type of finish you want to achieve. A gloss paint will help you reflect a lot of light around a room. Matt paint will give you a more subdued look which will suit some rooms more than others.

Outside of your day-to-day paints there are some special types of paints that you would only use on specific types of painting jobs. There are paints for covering textured ceilings and even specific paints for coating acoustic tiles.

If the ceiling you’re about to paint is textured then you’ll have to say goodbye to rollers. These simply won’t work with a textured stucco-type ceiling. You’ll have to look at spraying and this means plenty of ventilation and a certain level of skill – which if you don’t possess you’ll have to hire somebody in instead. Otherwise you’re just going to make a huge mess which is the last thing you really want in your home right?

To prime your walls or not to prime your walls? Well the simple answer is more often than not you will need to. There’s far more reasons for applying a coat of primer before you start painting. First off most surfaces need to be primed – especially if the walls are porous or damaged in any way – recent touch up jobs on cracks for example. You’ll also save a small fortune by only having to apply one or two coats of actual paint – if the surface is primed you’re just going to get a much better finish. Otherwise you’ll be applying one coat of paint after another and you might still wind up with streaks or dark patches – especially if the original wall color was dark.

If you want to cut down on the mess you make while you’re painting your ceilings then make sure you’ve mixed your paint properly. To test the consistency of your paint try it on a small patch of wall. If the paint isn’t thick enough it will run down the wall. That’s not what you want because that means lots of drips from the ceiling so you know you need to check the consistency.

One of the most useful items in your painting toolkit is an extension pole for your roller so that you’re not damaging your neck and shoulders. It will allow you to effectively paint ceilings – especially the higher types of ceilings. While painting try to keep the pole at an angle – this will help stop you getting covered in splatters of paint and keep the major stresses off your back, neck and shoulders.

So now know how to go about painting a ceiling – go ahead and start choosing your paints and color scheme.

Is your home starting to look shabby again? It’s time to get painting! Get some great interior painting ideas that you can use right now. Your home will thank you for it. This article was provided by Aaron Walker @ http://www.paintsplashes.com

Tips For Shipping Animals Overseas

Shipping animals requires research and choosing an experienced cargo shipping company. When you ship an animal, there are many different things that you will need to consider. Among the most important is which shipping company you are going to use, and what kind of documentation you need to ship your animals.

Picking Your Air Freight Service for Shipping Animals

If you are shipping small animals, then you will need an air freight service that can tell you exactly what you need to make the process quick and efficient. Since you will need to care for the animals while they are begin held in quarantine, knowing what you need to provide is just a small portion of the whole shipping cycle. You will also need to bring in documentation that gives you permission to ship the animals.

The right shipping company can prepare you for the shipping, and help you prepare the documentation you need for shipping and customs. If you are shipping a rare or protected animal, then you will also need to provide accurately completed documentation from the country that you are shipping the animal from, and from the institution where you are shipping the animal to. It is illegal to ship animals without going through the proper channels and with inaccurate documentation; the animal could be stuck in customs for quite some time.

Common Issues while Shipping Animals

Shipping animals can be frustrating if you have chosen the wrong cargo shipping company. You can be prepared for the most common imports and customs issues by talking to the customer support center for the shipping company, who should be able to provide you with all of the details that you need to ship your animals.

Typically, when you are shipping animals, you will need to have proof of vaccinations, permission to take the animals out of the country or ownership documentation, and may have to allow the animals to spend some time in quarantine. This is especially true if you are carrying an animal overseas which can have potentially damaging effects on the natural flora or fauna of the country that you are shipping to. There are exceptions, however, such as shipping animals to zoos or other government recognized institutes.

The Costs of Shipping Animals

The costs of shipping animals will vary greatly depending on the type of animals that you are shipping and the kind of care the animals will need during the transportation process. For particularly rare or dangerous animals, a professional handler may be allowed to accompany the animal on board the air carrier or ocean cargo ship.

You will also need to consider the care of the animals while they are being shipped, especially if they are on an ocean cargo ship. Shipping animals can be complicated, but with the help of a good shipping company, you will have nothing to worry about.

The last factor that you will need to consider is the actual price of the shipping services from the company that you choose.

Shipping Animals overseas does not need to be complicated. Amerijet International, Inc. is committed to making Shipping Animals as simple as possible. We also offer international” target=”_blank”>www.amerijet.com/articles/international-freight-shipping.html”>international freight shipping services.

When you finish the research for your website video product and have also completed recording streaming video then it will be time to start working on the script. When running your video on a webpage project it is important not to let the research drag on too long.

Many people fall into the trap of thinking that they need to go on gathering information before they can begin to write a script and; getting bogged down considering how can I put video on my website? This is one of the deadliest forms of procrastination; individuals end up feeling like they have been working all the time, but at the end of the day they sometimes do not seem to get much done in terms of moving closer to their objective of recording live streaming video.

The only way to avoid this type of trap which many people fall into is to set deadlines for recording live video. As with all goal settiing you need to establish a clear time frame for your research for your website video. It’s always good to give yourself not quite enough time to get the job done-then start writing the script and always be considering the question how can I put video on my website?. During the scripting process, you will make new connections that show you how to enrich the script when recording live streaming video by adding to it or taking away from it. Invariably when considering video on a webpage me and my team find ourselves needing to do new research in the middle of a script as new ideas push their way to the surface.

The more we work at this, the less up-front time we spend researching a project; we do know that the scripting process normally always triggers new insights and gives us great ideas for recording video that call for new research as discoveries are made, so how do we know what to research before we get everything down on paper? The more and more me and my team work recording live streaming video as writers and project developers, the less time we spend on research before we write a first draft of our script.

In our consulting we find that individuals and newer companies with little experience in business; and the reference here stands for any business, that could be massage therapists, make up artists, painters and decorators or barbers. The fact is that it is a myth to state that all good decisions are always only based on facts. All successful entrepreneurs and business people know that good decisions are based on opinion yet today we know that the decision for recording live streaming video is going and moving with the trend it today’s market place. Start with a hunch based on experience and intuition, then apply your skill and ability to develop that concept into a script for your website video. The best time to research your facts is after you’ve finished a first draft of your script.

Depending on the type of video you decide to create, when recording live streaming video you may want to write a storyboard along with your final script. A storyboard is a visual representation, drawing by drawing, of what the key scenes of the video on a webpage will look like. A storyboard helps you see the whole video in your mind before you shoot it, and it is one of the best ways to trigger your creativity. Cartoons and animated films use very detailed storyboards, of course, and many directors of live action also use storyboards.

If you are planning to hire the services of a production company for recording live streaming video, make sure to work closely with them during the planning process. If you are creating a how-to or motivational video in your area of expertise for your website video, you may well be the best person to write the script and remember not to concentrate on how can I put video on my website? but rather your ought to concentrate on the video on a webpage and on getting your ideas on paper and then work with the production company to arrive at a final script.

One last tip: When recording live streaming video, use humor whenever the website video allows for it. Laughter is one of the best ways to connect to your audience and build a bond of trust and try not to get stuck considering how can I put video on my website? but rather take action and move with the trend in the marketplace.

How to Draw Cars – Beginner Tips ...

Learning how to draw cars is not as difficult as you may believe. Many beginners when attempting to draw cars will fail at first because of that “I can’t do it” mentality. They will see all of the details, the shadows and the highlights and become intimidated and lose confidence. In order to succeed, to really learn how to draw, you must remove all preconceived notions about drawing.

Learning how to draw is really a matter of breaking down what you see into smaller parts or shapes. You have to look at the picture as a smaller step by step process. When you break things down like this the problem at hand becomes easier to draw. But before you go off and start to draw those cool muscle or race cars, you really need to understand a bit more about the supplies you will need. How else are you going to draw those cool cars?

Having good supplies is definitely going to make it easier to draw and more enjoyable, but it won’t make you a better artist. You must learn and understand the basics first. Quality equipment is an aid, but it is not a substitute for your skills or abilities.

The first thing you are going to need is a good surface to draw on. You will need a solid sturdy table, desk, or drafting table. Whatever you choose to draw on, make sure the surface does not wobble and is level. Do not settle for a cheap surface. It will only frustrate you and make things more difficult. Many artists like to work on a surface that is on a slight angle towards the artist which promotes a better posture. Being comfortable is very important.

Make sure you have good lighting. Learning how to draw cars is challenging enough. You do not need the frustration of poor lighting. Your lighting should be even so that there are no shadows or hot spots of light, so you may need more than one light source to draw with. There are specially made lamps for artists that produce light which mimics natural sunlight.

You can purchase these online or at art stores, but I have found that the professionally made lights for artists can be rather expensive. If you happen to live near a Home Depot or other home improvement center, try looking in their lighting department. I purchased my lamps there for under 20 dollars each.

As for what tools you should have on hand to draw with, there are no “One drawing tool fits all” formulas. You will have to experiment with different pens and pencils until you find the ones that are the most comfortable to draw cars with. It is probably best to have a variety of drawing tools on hand.

Many car artists have various pens, pencils, markers and even paints on hand to produce different effects. For instance, some car artists prefer to work with Prismacolor “Verithin” pencils for sketching fine lines and for light shading. Other artists prefer the convenience of mechanical pencils as there is no sharpening needed. Mechanical pencils are not the best for shading in areas however. So you see, having a variety of tools on hand to draw with is essential.

Paper is another item of personal choice. Again, you have to experiment. Just like pens and pencils, there are also a variety of drawing surfaces. Try your favorite pens and pencils on various surfaces. Drawing surfaces have different textures and thicknesses and your drawing mediums will behave differently depending on the surface and how you apply them.

You may also find guides helpful to draw with. Some car artists prefer to use ellipses and straight edges to help create straight lines and circles, while others work free hand.

If you do not happen to live near any art supply stores, you can always purchase your supplies online. Just go to any major search engine and type in “drawing supplies” and you will find plenty of online shops. My recommendation is Misterart.com. I have been buying my supplies there for a few years now and my shipments are always delivered fast and in perfect condition.

I hope these tips and instructions have given you more insight on how to draw cars. The most important thing with drawing cars, or any art for that matter, is to never give up. Keep practicing. Practice every day if possible and keep a sketchbook of your work so that you can keep track of your progress. You will get the hang of this and learn how to draw cars.

House Painting Tips – Do Life Time ...

House painting with life time warranted paint certainly offers some benefits that go beyond the capabilities of a 25 year paint. However, are you really getting the endurance you believe you are getting. I am frequently asked by my customers if I believe they should use a life time paint, and I usually respond by telling them that it depends on what their expectations are.

The first thing you need to consider is: what are your expectations from life time paint? Are your expectations realistic?

Paint manufacturers love to sell you on the idea of life time paint. It’s good business for them. It’s certainly easy for you to fall for this seemingly incredible warranty, considering the cost of having your house painted these days, but are you getting what you believe you’re getting.

There are 4 basic reasons you will need to repaint your home.

1. The paint you have now is faded and looks tired and dingy. 2. The caulked joints of your home have separated allowing water enter.

3. There are places where the paint is peeling.

4. You decide you are tired of the old color and want to change it.

Let’s take a closer look at these four reasons in relation to life time paint.

The truth is, life time warranted paints fade with exposure to sun light and weather, so if you are expecting it to look fresh 25 years from now, then you have been misled. First, you need to read the warranty of the life time paint. Most warrantees state that they cover excessive fading. Notice this does not mean “no fading”. It reads the same as a lesser grade paint. Life time warranted paints lose their clarity in color over time. Now your back to the 1st reason you needed to paint to begin with. Yes, it will maintain its fresh look longer than a lesser grade paint, but not a lot longer.

Paint really doesn’t play a role in caulk separation. Caulked joints separate due to expansion and contraction of the materials that constitute your home. Life time warranted paints can’t stop this movement; therefore, reason number 2 will still be in play if you paint with life time warranted paint.

For reason number 3 you have a clear advantage with some life time paints. Some life time paints are up to 70 percent ticker and have a greater ability to stretch. When it comes to peeling substrate, this is important, because a paint that is 70 percent thicker and more flexible will make it much harder for the underlying paint to peel and release. Most warranties do not cover inner layer peeling, however, most life time paints do give a limited warranty against peeling. It is possible that the inner layers of paint are so compromised that the problem extends beyond the capabilities of life time paint. This is especially true if the wood on the house wasn’t primed before the top coat was applied when the house was built.

Check the specification of the paint carefully. Some life time paints are not thicker than 25 year paints, therefore can’t offer the same protection as the thicker life time brands when it comes to peeling.

How many people want to live with the same color on their house for the rest of their life? I haven’t met anyone yet that could say they did, and I have been in this business for over 25 years. The truth is most people like change. The fresh new look of color change is important to most folks.

The strongest reason for using life time paints really may have nothing to do with the points listed above. It may have to do more with the fact you are planning to change the color.

Life time paints can save you money.

If you are planning on changing the colors of your home you may want to consider using the life time warranted paints. They can actually save you money, even though they cost nearly double the price of 25 year paint.

Consider this: If your planning to change colors, you probably will need two coats of paint, which will cost you an extra 60 to 70 percent on average. Often you will be able to cover with one coat using a life time paint because it is a thicker paint. The difference between the cost of using one coat of life time paints and two coats of 25 year paint is going to be between 1,200 and 1,400 dollars. That’s considerable savings.

Most manufacturers of life time warranted paints are counting on the average person moving every 6 to 8 years. The warranty is non transferable. If you do stay in the home long enough and make a claim on the paint, they will prorate any refund on the paint only, but not the labor.
